At DEKRA, we are continuing to grow and are looking for an M&A & Strategic Growth Expert – SEMEA (m/f/d) to support the region’s inorganic growth and strategic development across Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (SEMEA).

 

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities, coordinating transaction workstreams and supporting post-merger integration activities.

 

The position will work closely with Global M&A, country management and relevant corporate functions, providing fact-based analysis and recommendations to support regional management in strategic decision-making.

 

What will you do?

 

As an M&A & Strategic Growth Expert – SEMEA (m/f/d), you will independently contribute to complex M&A projects and strategic initiatives across the SEMEA region.

 

Your key activities will include:

  • Identifying, screening and prioritising potential acquisition opportunities.
  • Conducting market mapping and analysing industries, competitors and market-entry opportunities.
  • Developing financial models, valuations, business cases and scenario analyses.
  • Coordinating due diligence processes and assigned transaction workstreams.
  • Supporting the execution of M&A transactions and negotiation preparation.
  • Supporting post-merger integration planning and implementation.
  • Contributing to regional strategy development and strategic projects.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets in line with regional and global priorities.
  • Analyse relevant markets, industries, competitors and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct strategic, commercial and operational assessments of potential transactions.
  • Develop financial models, valuations, business cases and scenario analyses in cooperation with Finance and Global M&A.
  • Coordinate assigned commercial, financial, legal, tax, HR and operational due diligence workstreams.
  • Identify material transaction risks, dependencies and value-creation opportunities and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and external advisers throughout assigned transaction processes.
  • Support negotiation preparation and the review of transaction documentation, including relevant commercial elements of the SPA.
  • Develop integration plans and roadmaps for completed acquisitions and coordinate cross-functional integration workstreams.
  • Support regional strategy development through market analysis, strategic assessments and structured recommendations, including selected strategic initiatives and market-entry opportunities.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a comparable discipline.
  • 6–10 years of relevant experience in Corporate Development, M&A, Transaction Services, Private Equity, Strategy Consulting or Corporate Strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-border acquisitions and complex due diligence or integration projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of corporate development and M&A processes.
  • Strong experience in due diligence and post-merger integration.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation and investment-case capabilities.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills across countries and functions.
  • Strong analytical and structured thinking.
  • Strategic mindset and strong business acumen.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and coordination capabilities.
  • Results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management, acquisition targets and professional advisers.
  • High degree of autonomy and ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Fluent English (essential).

 

Other desirable qualifications:

 

  • Equivalent professional expertise will also be considered.
  • Additional SEMEA languages will be considered an advantage.
