A Day in the Life and the Impact You Will Make

You will be responsible for leading all information technology operations and strategy within DEKRA’s organization in Chile. Reporting directly to DEKRA Americas IT leadership, this role ensures that local IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems, and user support are fully aligned with DEKRA’s regional and global IT standards.

The role combines hands-on technical management with strategic oversight to deliver reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that drive business performance across Chile.

 

What You Will Do:

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Act as the primary IT representative for Chile, reporting to the DEKRA Americas VP of DDS.

  • Align all local IT operations, investments, and initiatives with DEKRA Americas and Global IT strategies.

  • Develop and execute the Chile IT roadmap to support operational goals, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation.

  • Manage IT budgets, forecasts, and procurement processes in coordination with regional finance and DEKRA Americas IT management.

  • Represent Chile in regional IT governance forums, ensuring visibility, transparency, and knowledge sharing.

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Oversee the reliable operation, maintenance, and security of Chile’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud systems (Microsoft Azure).

  • Ensure system availability and performance for local and remote offices, including connectivity to regional and global systems.

  • Manage the deployment, configuration, and lifecycle of hardware and software assets in compliance with corporate standards.

  • Support the integration of local systems into DEKRA’s global platforms and enterprise tools.

Operations & User Support Management

  • Lead the local IT support function, ensuring SLAs are met and high levels of user satisfaction are maintained.

  • Oversee Help Desk operations and escalation processes (Levels 1–3) to ensure timely and professional incident resolution.

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, user access, and identity management in coordination with Americas and Global IT Security teams.

  • Plan and coordinate IT support for office relocations, new site openings, and infrastructure upgrades in Chile.

Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Implement and enforce DEKRA’s global cybersecurity policies, ensuring compliance with Chilean data protection regulations and international standards (PCI, ISO 27001).

  • Collaborate with Americas and Global IT Security teams to identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.

  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning for Chile.

  • Conduct periodic IT audits and ensure accurate documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.

Leadership, People & Collaboration

  • Manage and develop the Chile IT team, promoting professional growth and a high-performance culture.

  • Foster strong collaboration between Chile IT and regional/global IT peers.

  • Partner with business and operational leaders in Chile to understand local IT needs and deliver tailored solutions.

  • Act as the communication bridge between Chile operations and Americas IT leadership, ensuring alignment, transparency, and mutual support.

Vendor, Partner & Project Management

  • Manage local IT vendors and service providers, ensuring compliance with DEKRA procurement policies and quality standards.

  • Lead and support IT projects in Chile, from planning and procurement through deployment and post-implementation support.

  • Coordinate cross-border technology initiatives with DEKRA Americas IT project managers.

  • Schedule and oversee after-hours testing, updates, or system maintenance as required.

 

What You Bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing IT operations in multinational or regional corporate environments.

  • Strong technical expertise in:

    • Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 ecosystems

    • Networking and security (preferably Cisco Meraki)

    • Windows Server and Windows 10/11 endpoints

    • SIP/VoIP systems and unified communications

    • Mobile Device Management (MDM), such as Intune or SOTI

  • Solid understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity frameworks, and compliance with global and local regulations.

  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance local needs with regional and global directives.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; certifications (ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA) are a plus.

  • 7 to 10 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 3 years in management or leadership roles.

  • Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
