About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Project Engineer to join our team in Singapore. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to be trained and mentored in the end-to-end process of UNECE R155 (Cybersecurity) and R156 (Software Update) vehicle type approval projects. This is an excellent entry point into the high-growth field of automotive cybersecurity compliance.
- Key Responsibilities
Project Execution Support: full-cycle execution of R155/R156 vehicle type approval projects, including client coordination, preliminary review of technical documents, on-site assessment support, test witnessing, and project documentation. - Regulatory Research & Consulting: Study and interpret key automotive cybersecurity regulations and standards (e.g., UNECE R155/R156, ISO/SAE 21434). Assist in providing basic technical consultation and training support to OEMs and suppliers.
- Technical Assessment Assistance: Participate in cybersecurity architecture reviews for vehicles and onboard systems. Assist in conducting Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) and verifying the effectiveness of security controls.
- Report Compilation: Prepare certification assessment reports, audit reports, and test reports, ensuring compliance with EU WVTA requirements.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal labs, type-approval authorities, and external clients. Track project progress and assist in resolving basic technical and compliance issues.
- Knowledge Base Maintenance: Stay updated on global automotive cybersecurity regulations and assist in maintaining the internal regulatory database and checklists.
Qualifications
- Education: Polytechnic or above in Vehicle Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related.
- Domain Knowledge: Basic understanding of or strong interest in UNECE R155/R156, ISO/SAE 21434, and the WP.29 type-approval framework. Knowledge of in-vehicle networks, software architecture, or ISO 26262 is a plus.
- Experience: This role is open to candidates with 0-2 years of relevant experience (including internships). Prior internship experience in R155/R156 certification, auditing, or testing is a strong advantage.
- Basic to intermediate Mandarin language skills are preferred, enabling effective communication with Chinese-speaking clients, OEM partners, and engineering teams.
- Core Competencies: Strong logical thinking, analytical, and documentation skills. Detail-oriented, a collaborative team player, and eager to learn new technologies and regulations.
- Other Requirements: Willing to travel for project assignments as required.
